CATSense Sentry 230

Overview

The CATSense Sentry 230 is a passive-infrared (PIR) motion sensor wall switch for 230 V lighting circuits. It installs in a standard 4×2 flush wall box in place of a regular light switch, and switches the circuit on when it detects movement — then off again once the area clears. Nothing to pair, program or maintain.

With an 800 W maximum load it comfortably drives a full room or passage of lighting from a single point. The 115 × 73 mm faceplate sits flush like an ordinary switch, and the IP20 rating covers indoor, dry-area installations: stairwells, entrance halls, office passages, storerooms and change rooms.

Installation & Compatibility

The Sentry 230 fits a standard South African 4×2 flush wall box in place of the existing switch. It needs both live and neutral at the box — many older switch loops carry live only, so check (or ask us to help you check) before ordering. As with any mains-voltage work, installation should be done by a qualified electrician.

Keep the total connected load within 800 W, and use it in indoor, dry areas per its IP20 rating. Unusual load types, outdoor or damp locations, or a box without neutral? Ask us — we'll confirm the fit or spec the right alternative.
